Dear Sponsor,

For example, our Post will hold its 15th Annual Fish Rodeo for hospitalized Veterans on Wednesday, May 8, 2024. These Veterans enjoy a day of fishing in a well-stocked lake, sunshine, camaraderie, and a delicious barbeque. The participants are Veterans from the War on Terror, Vietnam, Korea, and World War Il who are suffering with PTSD and other physical and mental health disorders. Also, each Veteran receives a bag full of socks, coupon books, toiletries, and other items to make their life a bit easier in the hospital. Donations are critical to the success of the program which was enjoyed in previous years. The Veterans are excited to get out and get some fresh air. By more than 100 hospitalized Veterans from Heinz VA, University Drive VA, Southwestern Veterans Center, other local healthcare facilities, and homeless Veterans. We anticipate an increase in the number of Veterans participating this coming year due to the positive feedback. The facility staff reported to our members that the Veterans talk about the wonderful times they had at the Fish Rodeo and eagerly anticipate attending this annual event.
We look forward to continuing to partner with you. We appreciate your consideration and support of our local Fish Rodeo for our wounded Veterans. We are a 501(c) (19) non-profit organization with an EIN of 25094147. Please make checks payable to: Morningside VFW Post 3945 and mail to: 1820 Morningside Avenue, Pittsburgh PA 15206. Life Changing Service Dogs For Veterans, a dedicated non-profit organization, is scheduled to present at the prominent American Legion District Meeting on May 19, 202412.
The upcoming session is expected to delve into the critical role that Service Dogs play in veterans’ lives4. Although the detailed agenda is yet to be released, it’s anticipated that this talk will highlight the profound impact Service Dogs have on enhancing the quality of life for veterans. These dogs, often rescued from shelters, are trained to assist their handlers in performing tasks that may be challenging due to physical disabilities5.
The American Legion, recognized as the nation’s largest wartime veterans service organization, is renowned for fostering patriotism across the U.S. through its diverse programs6. By inviting Life Changing Service Dogs For Veterans to speak, the Legion emphasizes the importance of understanding and addressing veterans’ unique needs.
This speaking engagement aligns perfectly with Life Changing Service Dogs For Veterans’ recent campaign to establish a state-of-the-art Service Dog training facility west of Pittsburgh4. This facility is designed to provide a serene and safe environment for both the applicants and recipients of these life-altering companions.
The American Legion District Meeting, a traditional gathering of veterans and advocates from across Western Pennsylvania, offers an excellent platform for attendees to learn more about the invaluable work of Life Changing Service Dogs for Veterans.
For those interested in learning more about the organization or supporting its mission, additional information can be found on the Life Changing Service Dogs For Veterans website1.

At Life Changing Service Dogs For Veterans, we are driven by a single goal; provide funding for Service Dogs to Veterans who suffer from visible and invisible disabilities resulting from Traumatic Brain Injuries (TBI) and/or Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). We provide financial support for Guardian Angels Medical Service Dogs, Inc.
