Please join us for the 1st Annual Tyler J. Sansonetti Race. This year’s event will benefit Life Changing Service Dogs For Veterans (LCSDFV), an organization that is dedicated to helping the many Veterans who return home with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI), emotional and mobility issues, and other visible and invisible injuries. LCSDFV is currently raising funds to build a new campus in McDonald, PA. Here, they will train Service Dogs and prepare them for their crucial roles as partners to Veterans.
This year’s race is being held at Bushy Run Battlefield, Jeanette, PA and will start at 11:00 a.m. Registration will begin at 9:30 am at the pavilion. Registration will include a t-shirt, and medals will be given to the top 3 finishers in each run division. This will be a 3 mile race, with options to run or walk the event. 3 miles was chosen as the length to reflect The Marine Corps Physical Fitness Test, which includes a 3 mile timed run. Tyler’s personal record was 18 minutes, so a special award will be given to any participant who completes the race in 18 minutes or less.
Following the race there will be food trucks, live music, and outdoor games. We encourage registrants and non-registrants to participate in these activities. The event will end at 5:00 pm.
