Life Changing Service Dogs For Veterans is an all-volunteer, Pittsburgh-based nonprofit dedicated to helping Veterans who return home with PTSD, Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI), and other invisible injuries. These conditions often lead to feelings of detachment, shame, and survivor’s guilt, hindering Veterans from fully enjoying life. Since its inception in 2015, LCSDFV has raised over $1.9 million, gifting Service Dogs to more than 55 Veterans in the region.
The organization’s mission goes beyond simply providing Service Dogs. In partnership with Guardian Angels Medical Service Dogs, LCSDFV focuses on raising funds to build a campus in McDonald, PA. This campus aims to breed, raise, and train medical Service Dogs specifically for those suffering from visible and invisible disabilities. Once completed, the campus will have the capability to assist up to 70 additional Veterans annually, significantly reducing the shortfall of Service Dogs available to those in need.
